Yamunotri is situated in Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand. Yamunotri is one of the four sites of famous Char Dham Yatra. It is located at a height of 3235 m above sea level. The site is the source of the Yamuna River and is the seat of Goddess Yamuna. Yamunotri is also the western most shrines in the Garhwal Himalayas. Yamunotri Temple

The current temple of recent origin is located six km from the town of Hanuman Chatti and four kms from Janki Chatti.
