Goa is the premium destination city for foreign tourists. Consequently, greater importance is given to all international flights to Goa. These international flights can fall into two categories:

• Indirect inbound international flights from Goa to Delhi where the plane lands at the Goan airport as a transit stop, exiting and taking in passengers to fly off to its final destination of Delhi

Indirect international flights from Goa to Delhi increased by more than 22.4% in 2001. This could be because the flight serves many purposes. It can be viewed as a destination carrier to passengers embarking on board in Goa to go back home. It can also be seen as a tour package flight which affords foreign investors the chance to sightsee around Goa before heading to the capital on the same plane. The airfare from Goa to Delhi on these flights works out cheaper for the passengers. Round-trip flights with multiple transit stops are affordable and convenient. In contrast one-way flights are expensive. These international flights from Goa to Delhi overlap with domestic aviation routes. As a result, these airlines usually run at empty to Delhi. Passengers prefer to switch to domestic circuit entirely. Indirect international flights are usually patronized by the elderly, handicapped and tourists. They have the option of traveling with more than three pieces of luggage. International flights offer a wide variety of entertainment. There is a diverse choice of cuisine ranging from special dishes to seafood. There is also audio-visual entertainment. But, the greater number of amenities on the flight simply means that the price also increases.

Domestic flights from Goa to Delhi have increased in number since 2000. Consequently, the number of airlines and charter aircraft has also increased. But still, these flights experience a shortage of seats. The rise in human traffic has succeeded in pushing the airfare from Goa to Delhi vertically. Service charter flights are scheduled to run all through the day and night. These flights do not come at discount rates. However, foreign students traveling to Delhi can get special discounts. Domestic flights offer a minimum of refreshments. Usually, refreshments are sold to passengers during the course of the charter flight.
