» More than 80% of all flights from Delhi to Goa are tourist oriented
» The airfare from Delhi to Goa is similar to the domestic pricing
» The direct international flight is usually a returning flight which stops at Goa to          change to international route and flight crew before flying abroad
» There are also indirect international returning flights
» The flight duration is long
» The tickets are usually booked online and are expensive
» The plane takes a circuitous route from Delhi to Goa and then Hyderabad or             Bangalore before final fuelling to fly abroad
» Usually these flights are overcrowded with tourists, students and foreign                 investors
» These flights generally come from UK into Delhi and then want to fly back via Goa,     Hyderabad or, Mumbai and Bangalore
» Consequently, these flights are few in number flying only once a month

A recent study in 2006 claimed that domestic passenger carriers from Delhi to Goa had gone up about 61%. This indicates three issues:

» Increase in the demand for air travel by domestic passengers
» Increase in the number of domestic carrier aircraft
» Increase in the number of aircraft seats
» Decrease in domestic airfare from Delhi to Goa

Domestic flights are usually cheap for students. Charter service planes ply for tourists. They place heavy emphasis on the economy class. These flights are scheduled at all times of the day. But, surveys show that service flights peak at afternoon and late evenings. These flights have a lot of restrictions. Usually domestic flights are occupied by tourist families. Indirect domestic flights stop at Goa as the first transit stop before flying down south. Special airline tour packages offering first class airline seats, bookings in airport hotels and excellent airport transportation are also offered.

» Bookings for all international and domestic flights have to be made in advance
» Domestic passenger carriers demand ticket payment at least 2-3 weeks in                advance
» International flights, direct and indirect, allow only 1 piece of hand luggage
» Special consideration about the number of hand luggage pieces is given to                students and elderly people
» International flights also restrict the presence and usage of sharp items on board.
